The London Lawyers’ Chorus ('LLC') sings a variety of classical and more recent repertoire. Accompanied by the London Lawyers’ Symphony Orchestra, we are able to sing choral works ranging from a capella miniatures to some of the largest choral works written.
Recent programmes have included:
Our resident Choral Director is Christopher Oakley. In addition, we have guest conductors from time to time, and fund a bursary scheme to assist conductors at the beginning of their careers, providing them with opportunities to rehearse the choir for a term and conduct the concert. Previous bursary students include Victoria Ely and Rupert Gill.
There are no formal auditions, but we do ask that you have a basic understanding of music and some previous experience. Some members are strong sight-readers; others may need to do more note bashing outside of rehearsals, but there are also plenty of practice CDs/MP3 resources to help with this, as well as work we do at rehearsals.
The Chorus meets on Thursday evenings during term time (September to June) from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. To view the current rehearsal schedule, please click here.
