About London Lawyers’ Chorus
London Lawyers’ Chorus sings a variety of classical and more recent repertoire. As a choir we’re able to perform choral works ranging from a capella miniatures to some of the largest choral works written, accompanied by the London Lawyers’ Symphony Orchestra.

Singing Standard & Auditions
There are no formal auditions, but we ask that you have a basic understanding of music and some previous experience of singing in a choir. Some members are strong sight-readers; others may need to do more note-bashing outside of rehearsals, but there are also plenty of practice CDs/MP3 resources to help with this, as well as work we do at rehearsals.
The choir meets on Thursday evenings during term time (September to June) from 7.00pm to 9.00pm at the Church Hall of the Welsh Baptist Church, 30 Eastcastle Street, London, W1W 8DJ. This is usually followed by a trip to the local pub for those that wan’t to socialise!

Our resident Choral Director is Christopher Oakley. In addition, we have guest conductors from time to time, and fund a bursary scheme to assist conductors at the beginning of their careers, providing them with opportunities to rehearse the choir for a term and conduct the concert. Previous bursary students include Victoria Ely and Rupert Gill.
