New season announcement
We are delighted to announce our plans for the 2022-23 season. Spring 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of Lawyers’ Music’s first London concert and we will be celebrating in style with a reprise of our hugely successful 2019 collaboration with our Parisian counterparts, L’Orchestre du Palais.
The season begins with the return of Mark Prescott to conduct the orchestra in a programme of Vaughan Williams in his 150th anniversary year (The Wasps overture and Norfolk Rhapsody), Debussy (Nocturnes Nos. 1 and 2) and Elgar’s Enigma variations.
Chris Oakley also makes a welcome return to conduct the choir in the Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle.
In the new year, we will prepare for our performances in London and Paris, with a programme comprising Mozart’s Magic Flute overture and Haydn’s Symphony no. 99 (to be directed by L’Orchestre du Palais conductor Nicolas Ledermann) and Mozart’s Requiem (to be conducted by Chris Oakley). We look forward to welcoming our French friends to London, and to our return visit to Paris two weeks later.
The June orchestral concert will include Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, and we will round off our anniversary season with a performance of Handel’s Messiah in July.
